We hope that the new pitch will be fit for use next season and with that in mind the club is endeavouring to move forward by commencing works to the new pavilion as soon as possible. We have recently received detailed planning consent for the same and we are now about to move forward with the production of more detailed construction drawings and specification etc. The outcome of a recent meeting between the club and the construction department at Burton College established that the college would be keen to further the possibility of using our project to train students of various disciplines, these including bricklayers, carpenters, plumbers, joiners and electricians.
We will be endeavouring to seek funding for the pavilion from whatever sources are out there, presently we are looking at building the finances around a possible interest free loan from the ECB.
There is a lot of work to be done, however we continue to move forward and we'd be really pleased to hear from anyone who'd like to get involved in assisting us with our endeavours (contact Richard Abell at abell@laurelplace.freeserve.co.uk or 07850 800837).
Regards
Rich
